Meet Y2Y Network's New Executive Director: Timothy Maguire!
Y2Y Network is thrilled to announce Tim Maguire as its new Executive Director. Maguire, a respected leader in youth services, stepped into the role in March 2025. Prior to joining Y2Y Network, he served as the Executive Director of Youth Continuum, a longtime partner of Y2Y Network, where he spent many years overseeing housing and support programs before advancing into executive leadership. With two decades of experience working with youth experiencing homelessness and other adverse experiences, Tim Maguire brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to expanding housing and support services for young people.
Throughout his career, Tim Maguire has been instrumental in launching innovative housing and support initiatives for youth. His leadership has led to the development of Connecticut’s first youth-specific site-based permanent supportive housing program, the only youth-specific scattered-site permanent supportive housing program in the state, and the only youth-specific overnight shelter space in the Greater New Haven Region, which he helped expand from six to twelve beds under YHDP funding. He also played a key role in establishing Connecticut’s only youth-specific warming center and implementing HUD-funded Youth Navigation and Rapid Re-Housing programs.
Tim Maguire’s career began in direct service roles, including as a Residential Advisor at Youth Continuum in 2007, where his passion for helping young people quickly propelled him into leadership positions such as Director of Housing Operations and Chief Operating Officer. His visionary leadership has resulted in expanded housing opportunities, increased funding, and innovative approaches to combating youth homelessness.
“Having partnered with Y2Y New Haven since 2018, I have seen firsthand the power of the peer-to-peer model in interrupting the cycle of youth homelessness. I am thrilled to be joining the larger Y2Y Network as the new Executive Director and to amplify our work to drive impact for other youth in need. I look forward to spending time in the Harvard Square space, learning more about the foundation of this model, and exploring ways to adapt and expand it to address the evolving barriers that young people experiencing housing instability continue to face,” said Tim Maguire.
Beyond his work at Y2Y Network, Tim Maguire is an active community leader. He serves as Chairperson of the Greater New Haven Youth Engagement Team Initiative (YETI) and recently became Co-Chair of the Greater New Haven Regional Alliance to End Homelessness. In addition to his professional commitments, he enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams and participating in their PTA.
Tim Maguire holds a Master of Social Work from Fordham University, focusing on Community-based Practice and Leadership; a Master of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Psychology and Victim’s Advocacy from the University of New Haven; and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Marist College with a minor in Spanish.
